Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have been found in the Albuquerque area. The mosquitoes were collected from a trap near the Rio Grande and Rio Bravo in Albuquerque. The New Mexico Department of Health and the City of Albuquerque Environmental Health Department are urging residents to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites and prevent the spread of the virus. This includes using insect repellent, wearing long-sleeved clothing, and eliminating standing water around homes.
